SEMPRE-BIO, THE PROJECT
The aim of this project is to explore new methods of biomethane production to meet the objectives of the European Green Deal
New technologies will be demonstrated to secure Europe’s energy supply and achieve the 2030 and 2050 climate and energy targets.
BIOMETHANE: GREEN ENERGY
The green waste is pyrolyzed at high temperature and the resulting syngas is injected into biological methanation in order to produce biomethane that can be injected directly into the networks.
SEMPRE-BIO
Exploring new methods of biomethane production
OUR GOALS
New technologies will be demonstrated to secure Europe’s energy supply and achieve the 2030 and 2050 climate and energy targets.
Green & Low Carbon Energy
The production of biomethane from green waste does not emit fossil fuels
Waste recovery
The TerraWatt process converts non-fermentable, low-value waste into biomethane
Utilization of existing network infrastructure
Europe’s gas networks are highly developed, allowing biomethane to be distributed to many Europeans
Preservation of soil and groundwater quality
The production of green energy such as biomethane does not pollute the water table or weaken the soil
Project funded by the European Union
This project is funded by the European Union’s HORIZON program under grant agreement No. 101084297. However, the views expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect those of the European Union or the European Commission. Neither the European Union nor the authority granting the subsidy can be held responsible for them.
OUR PARTNERS
Together, let’s develop a low-carbon energy sector
